SENSITIVITY VS ALLERGY

Our food sensitivity testing measures your immune response to 96 different foods and food additives. It measures both IgA and IgG reactions, two markers of immune activation, to determine how your body is responding to each food. A food intolerance (or sensitivity) creates biological disturbances that may not be as noticeable or immediate as an allergic reaction, but they can contribute to a variety of symptoms. Food sensitivities may seem less severe than allergies, but, in reality, both can create severe health concerns.

An allergy is identified by measuring the IgE immune marker. This is not part of the food sensitivity panel but it can be added to reveal the full spectrum of reactivity.

It is important to note that just because you are currently sensitive to a food, does not mean you have to eliminate it from your diet forever. After working with our medical experts to improve your gut health, it is likely you will alleviate some sensitivities.

The results of your food sensitivity test results will be reviewed by our team of wellness experts who will empower you to adjust your diet, reduce your symptoms, and optimize your energy.

Who is the Food Sensitivity Test for?

The terms food allergies, sensitivities, and intolerances are often confused and used interchangeably, although they are unique physiological conditions. A true food allergy causes an immune system reaction that affects numerous organs in the body. It can cause a range of symptoms, and, in some cases, an allergic food reaction can be severe or life-threatening. In contrast, symptoms of food intolerances or sensitivities are generally less serious, but often more difficult to detect or diagnose. Some symptoms may include:

  • Gas
  • Bloating
  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Headaches
  • Musculoskeletal joint pain
  • Muscle stiffness and swelling
  • Brain Fog
  • Rashes
  • Eczema
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Skin itchiness
  • Redness
  • Bronchitis
  • Asthma-like symptoms
